A traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Henderson on Wednesday led to the arrest of a Tennessee man found with 202 pounds of marijuana in his truck, Louisiana State Police said.

Michael Willis, 59, of LaFollette, Tennessee, was booked on possession with intent to distribute marijuana after a search revealed he had the large quantity of the substance inside his vehicle, State Police said in a news release.

A trooper had pulled Willis over for following another vehicle too closely, then “became suspicious of Willis’ behavior and could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the truck,” the release states.

Willis was arrested around 8 a.m. and booked into the St. Martin Parish jail.
