NEW IBERIA — Authorities are looking for one man and trying to identify three others after two overnight shootings in New Iberia, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives issued an attempted second-degree murder warrant for Tristan Bernard, 26, of New Iberia, in a Wednesday night shooting in the 600 block of South Hopkins Street, said Maj. Ryan Turner, Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
A 22-year-old man told detectives Bernard shot him several times during an argument around 7:30 p.m., Turner said. The victim is in stable condition at a hospital.
Detectives are also seeking the identities of three men involved in an unrelated 1 a.m. Thursday shooting — on Shot Street — during a drug deal gone bad, Turner said.
A 31-year-old man at the 300 block of Evangeline Street told authorities he was driving on Shot Street and approached three man standing near the roadway, Turner said. While he interacted with one of the men, another one tried to steal money from him and a third shot him in the arm.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 369-3711.
