Scott police early Thursday morning arrested a Lafayette man and three other people with him when he allegedly fired a gun toward two women while trying to instigate a fight at their home.

Ke’Shawn Jones, 20, was booked into the Lafayette Parish jail on a count of attempted first-degree murder in the incident in the 100 block of Clay Road, according to a Scott Police Department news release.

Police said a woman called 911 shortly before 1 a.m. to say her ex-boyfriend and several other people were in her yard yelling at the occupants inside to come outside and fight. When family members arrived to help diffuse the situation, the group began to argue with them and at one point, Jones fired five or six shots toward the caller and her sister, police said. The group then fled the scene.

State Police troopers, Lafayette police officers and parish sheriff’s deputies joined the search and found Jones and Anthony Gary, 20, of New Iberia, hiding in a barn in a nearby field. Siera Harbor, 19, and Darien Wilson, 18, both of Lafayette, later surrendered at the Scott Police Department after they were contacted by investigators, police said.

Gary, Harbor and Wilson each were booked on counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder in the incident. Jones and Gary also were booked on a count of simple burglary, reportedly for hiding in the barn.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are pending, police said.
