An Opelousas man was killed early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the Interstate 49 service road near Kennerson Road, State Police said.

Corey L. Doucet, 32, was driving a 2004 GMC Yukon at around 6:30 a.m. north on the frontage road when he ran off the road, crashed into a ditch and overturned, Master Trooper Brooks David said.

Doucet was not wearing a seat belt, and it was unclear whether he was impaired, David said.

Toxicology samples were sent to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis in a case that remains under investigation.
