No one injured after tanker truck wrecks

Sheriff’s deputies and state troopers briefly closed U.S. 90 in St. Mary Parish Sunday afternoon after a tanker truck and another vehicle crashed around noon.

No injuries were reported, State Police said.

Troopers rerouted traffic around the wreck at the intersection of U.S. 90 and La. 318 in the Four Corners area while crews cleared the tanker from the road, said Master Trooper Brooks David, a spokesman for the State Police.

The tanker truck began leaking after the crash, KATC-TV said, and preliminary information indicated the truck was carrying crude oil.

Truck drops crane when merging on I-10

An 18-wheeler carrying a 55-ton crane lost the load as it merged onto Interstate 10 from Interstate 210 in Lake Charles around 9 p.m. Saturday, KATC-TV reports.

The crane fell off the trailer as the truck took the curve onto I-10 westbound around 9 p.m., State Police told KATC-TV, briefly shutting down the ramp and delaying traffic.
