A grand jury on Wednesday returned a second-degree murder indictment against a Duson man accused of killing his girlfriend in November.

Miles Guidry, 27, is accused in the death of 26-year-old Claire Walley, who died Nov. 29 in their shared home, police have said. The couple lived together in the 400 block of Lagneaux Road along with their infant son.

Guidry is set for an arraignment on May 24.

Guidry has remained in the Lafayette Parish jail in lieu of a $500,000 bail since Dec. 16, when he was extradited from Colorado to Lafayette.

Police in Glendale, Colorado, arrested Guidry there Dec. 7 after finding him asleep in his vehicle and found he was wanted in Walley’s death. He had been missing since the Nov. 29 killing.

Circumstances surrounding Walley’s death, including a cause-of-death, have not been released while the ongoing criminal investigation into Guidry’s involvement continues.
