Lafayatte police arrested a 52-year-old Lafayette man accused of fatally shooting a man Saturday afternoon.

The attack happened about 3 p.m. in a parking lot in the 4500 block of Johnston street, Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said in a news release. The victim was shot multiple times during an argument and pronounced dead at the scene, Craft said.

KATC-TV reported the shooting was in the parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant on Johnston Street.

Detectives said the shooting may be the result of an ongoing feud between the men.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim or the man accused of shooting him. The incident remains under investigation.
