A Jeanerette man deemed armed and dangerous is being sought as a suspect in last week’s fatal shooting of a Four Corners man, authorities said.

Henderson Wesley, 22, of 11416 Old Jeanerette Road, is wanted on a warrant on second-degree murder in the Oct. 8 killing of 32-year-old Ronald J. Chillis Jr., according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“(Wesley) is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached,” said Deputy Jimmy Broussard, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Wesley is described as a 6-foot-2 black man weighing about 160 pounds, last seen driving a white Dodge Charger, Broussard said in a news release.

Information about Wesley’s whereabouts can be directed to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Detective Division at (337) 828-1960 or (985) 384-1622.

New Iberia offender sentenced to prison

A New Iberia man was sentenced to federal prison Wednesday for failing to register as a sex offender.

U.S. District Judge Richard Haik sentenced Rodger Dale Seilhan, 63, to 15 months in prison and 10 years’ supervised release, U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said in a news release.

Finley said Seilhan failed to report his whereabouts for two years, and agents with the U.S. Marshals Office caught him in May at a relative’s home in New Iberia.

Seilhan was convicted in a 1982 aggravated sexual assault on a child and sentenced to 15 years in prison in Texas.

In September 2012, Seilhan quit notifying Texas authorities, which was a requirement because he is a sex offender. His last known address was in Willis, Texas, Finley said.

Agents with the U.S. Marshals Office, Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Texas State Police, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police were involved in the investigation.

Toxicology reports pending in I-10 fatality

Toxicology reports are pending for a Lake Arthur man accused of vehicular homicide in a Wednesday morning accident on Interstate 10 that left another Lake Arthur man dead.

Louisiana State Police say 21-year-old Taylor R. Pellerin was driving east on I-10 when he flipped his pickup truck into the median, ejecting 22-year-old Jordan K. Gatte into the westbound lane, KATC-TV reported. Gatte wasn’t wearing a seat belt, police said.

Gatte was struck by a passing 18-wheeler and pronounced dead at the scene, while Pellerin was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital with moderate injuries, State Police said.

Witnesses told State Police that Pellerin’s 2008 Chevrolet was moving erratically between the lanes before the accident, KATC-TV reported, and his impairment is expected as a factor in the crash. He was arrested on one count each of vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated, careless operation and failure to wear a seat belt.

The accident snarled traffic for miles for more than an hour near Welsh and Jennings, leading to minor injuries when one 18-wheeler crashed into another, KATC-TV reported. The driver was cited for careless operation.

Two women sought in stolen credit card case

Crowley police are seeking two women captured on surveillance video using a stolen credit card in Jennings.

The images depict two black women with long hair, one wearing all black and a black baseball cap, the other wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, according to a news release from Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson.

The card was burglarized from a vehicle in Crowley and later used on Sept. 12 at the Jennings Wal-Mart, Gibson said.

Anyone who can identify the women can receive up to a $1,000 cash reward by calling the Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish tips line at (337) 789-TIPS (8477).
