A state district judge has denied bail for a 17-year-old accused in the slaying of a convenience store clerk.
Devante Lemon, of Opelousas, was booked on first-degree murder in the shooting death of store clerk Waled Alqohaif.
Judge Alonzo Harris denied bail for Lemon on Wednesday, saying the teen poses a flight risk.
Alqohaif, 29, was found dead Jan. 6 behind the counter of the Opelousas store in the 600 block of South Railroad Avenue.
Also booked in the slaying was Jeffery Fisher, 27 of Lafayette.
