A female deputy filed a lawsuit against the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Tuesday claiming she was sexually harassed by a lieutenant who has a history of complaints.

The suit, filed in District Court, says the deputy, a 5-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, began working with the lieutenant in February and immediately was targeted with “sexual and humiliating comment, pressuring text message and unwanted physical contact.”

The plaintiff, identified only as Deputy L.B., alleges in the suit that Lt. Freddie Laque touched her face and hands and asked her if she likes “big men.” Another employee previously accused Laque of sexual harassment, but no disciplinary action was taken, according to the suit.
