SCOTT — A 22-year-old woman leaving Cowboys Nightclub died overnight Friday after she was hit by a vehicle leaving the club’s parking lot, police said.

Kylie Pannell died en route to the hospital sometime after 2 a.m., Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said in a news release Friday morning. The driver, 23-year-old Chase Franks, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count each of vehicular homicide and OWI.

Franks had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.082 at the time of the crash, Leger said. The legal limit for an adult is below 0.08.

Franks reported that Pannell ran in front of his vehicle as he was leaving the parking lot, and that he didn’t see her until she had been hit, Leger said.
