Police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for a Lafayette man accused of forcing his way into a home on South Orange Street and shooting a 24-year-old woman in the chest.

Anthony “DeDe” Mitchell, 27, is wanted on a count of attempted first-degree murder in the Dec. 8 shooting, according to a news release from the Lafayette Police Department.

The other two assailants remain unidentified.

Police said three armed men forced their way into the home in the 500 block of South Orange Street around 9 p.m. and shot the woman before fleeing.
