St. Martin Sheriff’s Office: Breaux Bridge woman arrested after stabbing man in the back _lowres

A Breaux Bridge woman arrested Tuesday afternoon is accused of stabbing a man at a home in the 1000 block of Camp Bon Temps Road.

Deputies arrested 26-year-old Brooke Mathis on a count of aggravated second-degree battery after responding to a domestic disturbance call, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

When deputies arrived, they found the victim with a stab wound in his back, the Sheriff’s Office said. Mathis had fled the home, but she was later located and arrested without incident at a home off Hollow Oak Road.

Mathis remained in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center Wednesday without bail.
