NEW IBERIA — A New Iberia man was arrested Monday night after an argument earlier that day led to shots fired into an occupied residence, an official said.
Deshawn Anthony Davis, 21, was booked into the Iberia Parish jail on counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property, Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Fleming said.
At around 5 p.m. Monday, Davis got into an argument with the residents of a home in the 500 block of Fontelieu Drive, after which he pulled a handgun and fired “several shots” into the home, Fleming said, citing witnesses.
No one was injured, he said.
Detectives arrested Davis about four hours later at a home in the 800 block of Francis Street, Fleming said.
Davis remains in the parish jail. His bail was set at $500,000.
