YOUNGSVILLE — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 28-year-old Youngsville man accused in a series of sexual assaults involving three girls, according to a news release.

The assaults occurred over a five-month period from January through May and involved girls ages 13 to 16, the release said. Keiwaythan L. Turner was arrested on five counts of forcible rape and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, the release said.

The allegations came to light after the victims, who knew Turner, confided in a parent about the incidents, which occurred in the Carencro and Youngsville areas, the release said.

Turner was being held at the parish jail on unrelated charges when the investigators added the sexual assault counts, the release said.

Turner is being held on $400,000 bail at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, the release said.
