Two men robbed a branch of IberiaBank on Monday afternoon, with one remaining near the bank entrance while the other donned a Halloween mask and hat to rob the bank of an unknown amount of cash before both fled, officials said.

The robbery occurred about 3:30 p.m. at the 3701 Johnston St. branch, Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

Witnesses said the masked man walked up to two tellers and demanded money, Mouton said. Though witnesses saw no weapons, they told police they could have been armed.

The bandits were described as black men in their 20s or 30s with medium builds.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Lafayette police or call Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
