LAFAYETTE — Police are investigating the Sunday night armed robbery of a business on Johnston Street, according to a news release.

Two men armed with handguns entered Smoke It, 3211 Johnston St., at 10:42 p.m. Sunday and demanded money, the release said.

The robbers were described as a black man wearing a white jacket, knit cap and black pants; and a white or Hispanic man, wearing a long-sleeve purple shirt, black pants and a black cap, the release said.

Both men had their faces covered, the release said.

They fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash and two cellphones, the release said.

Lafayette man shot in home invasion

LAFAYETTE — Police are seeking information on three suspects wanted in connection with a home invasion and shooting in south Lafayette Parish.

Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a reported shooting shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.

Judice said three men, wearing ski masks, forced entry into a home and shot one of the occupants.

He said the victim, a 26-year-old Lafayette resident, was shot once in the leg and Sunday afternoon was listed in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
