Acadia Parish authorities Tuesday continued an investigation into a fatal automobile crash over the weekend that killed a Crowley woman and badly hurt a passenger.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, when Nicole Marie Hebert veered off the road near the intersection of Harmon and Goodrich roads, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Maxine Trahan said in a release.

Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected. Hebert was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Dr. Mark Dawson, Trahan said.

The passenger, Ricky Paul Sonnier, was taken to American General Hospital in Crowley with severe injuries. Trahan said Tuesday she did not have an update on Sonnier’s condition.
