Authorities say a man waiting for his Chevrolet Silverado to be serviced in New Iberia had his truck stolen, when a man jumped inside and drove off with it Saturday afternoon.

The man had parked his car with the keys still inside at a service station on 1205 E. Admiral Doyle Drive at around 10 a.m. Saturday, when a man in an all gray jump suit with a red duffle bag jumped inside and sped off, said Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal in a news release.

The man was about 40 years old, six feet tall and weighed about 240 pounds. The car he rode off in, a dark blue 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with bullet-hole chrome rims, had a license number X134952, Ackal said.

Anyone with details about the theft can call the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-369-3711.
