Two Franklin residents arrested Tuesday are accused of operating a meth lab in a house with children present.

Richard Fontenot, 42, and Miranda Brown, 22 — both of 111 Duhon Lane — were booked on operating a clandestine laboratory and manufacturing methamphetamine, meth possession, drug paraphernalia possession, and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of children, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives investigating a possible meth lab at the Duhon Lane home located the operation and booked Fontenot and Brown into jail, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Fontenot remained in the St. Mary Parish jail on Wednesday afternoon in lieu of a $100,000 bail, according to booking records. Brown bailed out of jail by Wednesday afternoon on a $1,500 bond.
