A St. Martinville man who allegedly shot two others at a St. Martin Parish crossroads Wednesday night has surrendered to authorities and has been booked on two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Casey Mark Wiltz, 28, shot 34-year-old Andre Narcisse and 31-year-old Kelvis Narcisse shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Loreauville Highway and Cemetery Highway, said Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.
An argument earlier in the day apparently prompted Wiltz to stop his vehicle at the intersection and confront the two victims, Higgins said. Following another heated argument, Wiltz pulled out a weapon and shot both men, Higgins said.
Andre Narcisse was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Higgins said, and Kelvis Narcisse was treated at the scene of the shooting for injuries that were not life-threatening.
It was not immediately clear if the two victims are related.
Wiltz turned himself in to sheriff’s deputies about two hours later and was booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail. Higgins said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
