KATC-TV is reporting that the standoff at a trailer park in Scott ended Friday afternoon with Scott Police and Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies arresting a man wanted on five active warrants.

Benjamin Sanchez, 24, will be booked in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and will be picked up by Lafourche Parish authorities on Monday.

The incident began when Scott Police tried to serve the warrants at the trailer park, but Sanchez refused to come out of the house.

Just before 5 p.m., police and deputies took Sanchez into custody without incident.

No injuries were reported.

Police are in a standoff at a Scott trailer park, where a fugitive from another parish is believed to be barricaded inside a trailer, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are assisting the Scott Police Department in the situation, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. John Babin.

Police were trying to serve a warrant at Landall Mobile Estates on West Willow Street, Babin said. The specifics on what type of warrant were not immediately available.
