New Iberia man booked on 35 counts of possessing child pornography _lowres

A New Iberia man arrested Wednesday is accused of possessing child pornography.

Scott Mowry, 57, of 6310 Coteau Road, Lot No. 28, was booked into the Iberia Parish jail on 35 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles, according to a news release from the state Attorney General’s Office, which led the investigation.

If convicted, Mowry faces up to 20 years in prison on each count.

Mowry remained in the Iberia Parish jail on Wednesday evening. Bond had not been set.

Multiple agencies participated in Mowry’s arrest, including the Iberia and Plaquemines sheriff’s offices and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations.
