An Arnaudville woman and her 7-year-old son were killed and two men hospitalized Monday morning after a two-vehicle crash on La. 1252.

Kristen Trimm, 23, was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra east on La. 1252 near Kidder Road when she crossed into the westbound lane of travel shortly before 8 a.m., State Police spokesman Brooks David said.

She crashed almost head-on into a 2009 GMC Sierra, knocking the truck off the road while her car came to rest in the eastbound lane, David said.

The truck driver, 22-year-old Joey Stelly of Carencro, was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Trimm and her son, 7-year-old Branson Taylor, were pronounced dead at the scene, David said. Trimm’s front-seat passenger, 26-year-old Ronnie Touchet of Breaux Bridge, was hospitalized with severe injuries.

Trimm and Touchet were wearing seat belts. The child, who was sitting in the back seat, was not.

A toxicology sample was taken from Trimm and Stelly for analysis.
