Police on Monday released surveillance images of man accused of robbing a Scott convenience store last week.
While brandishing a small-caliber semi-automatic handgun, the man entered the Dulles Street store around 3 a.m. on Sept. 14 and demanded cash, fleeing with an undisclosed amount, Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said.
The robber fled the scene in a dark-colored, late model Dodge Challenger and headed east toward Lafayette. The car was later seen near Guilbeau Road and Congress Street, Leger said.
The robber is described as a black man who appears to be between 20-25 years old and who stands between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. He was wearing a maroon hoodie with white lettering, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Police obtained DNA evidence from the scene, Leger said.
Anyone with information on the man’s identity is encouraged to contact the Scott Police Department at (337) 233-3715 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers tip line at (337) 232-8477.
