Authorities identified the body of a person found last week in the trunk of a burned vehicle.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators working with LSU’s Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services identified the man as Danell James Andrew, 34, of Breaux Bridge, according to a news release.
Investigators are still working with the Lafayette Fire Department Arson Investigation Team to determine who may be responsible for Andrew’s death, the release said.
Capt. Kip Judice, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said Andrew’s family had seen him within a day or so before his death.
His burned 1999 Chevrolet four-door vehicle was found Oct. 8 about 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Felix Road in Lafayette Parish.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-8477.
