An Acadia Parish jury on Wednesday unanimously convicted a Rayne man as charged with two counts of forcible rape of a juvenile victim.
Steven Blunt, 46, of 101 E. Jeff Davis St., will be sentenced on Monday by Judge Kristian Earles.
Assistant District Attorney Burleigh E. Doga prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Rayne Police Department.
Authorities arrested Blunt on July 28, 2013, on accusations he forced the victim to have sexual intercourse with him on two occasions by threatening physical harm according to a news release from the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. He was charged by bill of information on Sept. 26, 2013.
Blunt faces up to 40 years hard labor.
