Police have arrested two 16-year-olds in a shooting on Pearl Street early Tuesday.
The 49-year-old victim is listed in stable condition at an area hospital, according to Lafayette Police.
Police said the man was in his yard in the 200 block of Pearl Street about 2:30 a.m. when a pickup truck stopped in front of his home and someone got out, asked for a cigarette lighter and then pulled out a pistol and demanded cash.
The victim handed over cash from his wallet, police said, and the gunman shot him in the shoulder as he walked back to his home.
The two 16-year-olds were arrested a short time later on Goldman Street after police tracked down a truck that matched the victim’s description, police said.
The teenagers have been charged with unauthorized use of a moveable and armed robbery, police said.
