A Lafayette man arrested in Crowley as a suspect in a Lafayette shooting was extradited on Wednesday to the Lafayette Parish jail, according to booking records.
Lynol James Christian, 34, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count of attempted first-degree murder in a Jan. 2 shooting incident on Evangeline Thruway, said Cpl. Paul Mouton, Lafayette Police spokesman.
The U.S. Marshals Service Task Force arrested Christian on Friday in Crowley, where he had been living on West 11th Street, Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson said. He was booked into the Acadia Parish jail while awaiting extradition.
Christian is accused of firing multiple shots at a car speeding away from the 2100 block of Northeast Evangeline Thruway at around 1 p.m., Mouton said.
No one was struck by the bullets, authorities said.
Christian is being held on a $250,000 bond.
