Two suspects in recent, unrelated homicides in Lafayette were taken into custody this week, Lafayette Police announced on Thursday.

A U.S. Marshal Service task force on Tuesday arrested 41-year-old Larry Lewis in Houston, where Lewis lives, according to Lafayette Police. Lewis was booked on second-degree murder in the Oct. 11 shooting death of 41-year-old Billy Roy in the 100 block of Hobson Street.

Separately, Demarko Jaquine Alfred, 17, of Lafayette, was booked on second-degree murder in the Sept. 18 shooting death of 22-year-old Jaleel Bonham. The victim was found in a park in the 1200 block of East Pont Des Mouton.

No further information concerning the shootings or circumstances of the arrests is currently available.
