Investigators are searching for the owners of five horses seized Wednesday in Jeanerette because of concern about their living conditions.

Toney Wade, the lead investigator for the private Louisiana Cruelty Investigations Task Force, told KATC-TV they found no obvious signs of food and the water buckets were dry. He said some of the horses were eating their own feces, flies were swarming and there were nails exposed on the ground inside of the stalls.
