Vermilion Parish authorities have arrested a Loreauville man in the Saturday shooting at a community hall that injured seven people, officials said.

Bryson Provost, 20, was booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, Sheriff Mike Couvillon said. Provost was arrested Monday afternoon at his home by Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies.

The shooting occurred at the Woodmen of the World Hall on Junius Road in Abbeville. None of the injuries to the seven victims was life threatening, Couvillon said in a news release.

Couvillon did not state an exact time when the shooting occurred.

Couvillon said detectives continue to look at others who might have been involved. He said evidence at the scene shows more than one weapon might have been discharged Saturday.

Couvillon said “a lack of full cooperation from victims and/or witnesses thus far (is) hindering the investigation.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Sheriff’s Office detectives at (337) 898-4403.
