Police are working to identify the man who shot and injured another man late Tuesday in Lafayette.

Witnesses told police the victim got out of his vehicle around 11:30 p.m. when the shooter started firing, striking the victim twice, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

The shooter ran from the crime scene in the 2800 block of Louisiana Avenue, police said.

The victim on Wednesday afternoon was listed in stable condition at an area hospital, but no further details — including a potential motive — were available in the case, police said.
