A 19-year-old Morgan City man was booked early Sunday on one count of attempted murder after a fight that sent another man to a hospital with a stab wound, officials said.

Jair Razo admitted to stabbing the victim in the stomach after the two got into a fight, Morgan City Police Capt. James Blair said.

Blair said that after talking to Razo, officers located a knife that detectives believe Razo used.

Razo was booked at almost 1 a.m. Sunday into the city jail on one count of attempted second-degree murder, Blair said.

The victim was reported in good condition at a local hospital, he said.
