Lafayette detectives Friday arrested the man they believe robbed four banks within two months in late 2014 and early 2014, including two in one day, city police Cpl. Paul Mouton said in a release.

Muhammed Abdulla Nur, 56, of Rayne, was booked into the Lafayette Parish correctional facility Friday on four counts of first-degree robbery.

Mouton said the detectives found Nur’s DNA at one of the crime scenes. Mouton did not say which heist allegedly connected Nur to the robberies.

Nur is suspected of robbing a Midsouth Bank branch on Dec. 11, branches of Chase and Home Bank on Jan. 10 and another Chase branch on Feb. 6.

The investigation remains open, Mouton said.
