A Crowley man was killed Monday evening in a four-car car crash, according to Louisiana State Police.

Phillip Meaux, 49, and another driver were slowing down on La. Hwy. 342 near Brumley Road around 6 p.m. to allow a driver to turn left. While slowing, a 2012 Ford F-350 struck Meaux's 2001 Chevrolet Corvette from behind and pushed it into a 2009 Nissan Altima. The F-350 countinued to move forward, driving over the Corvette onto the Altima's roof and rolling onto its left side and striking a fourth vehicle -- a 2004 Ford Focus.

Meaux was prounounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Altima -- Jessica Peltier, 37, of Lafayette -- was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No injuries were reported for the driver of the F-350 (Joshua Ware, 33, of Lafayette) or the driver of the Focus (Madison Dugas, 17, of Duson).

LSP said it doesn't suspect impairment caused the crash and said all drivers involved were wearing seat belts. Ware was cited for following too close, according to LSP.
