Two men were arrested Friday in New Iberia after deputies said they robbed a St. Martinville casino at gunpoint Tuesday.

Paul Richard Ayers and Chase Ryan Ayers are accused of robbing the casino, which is in the 1100 block of Clover Hill Road, around 5 p.m. Tuesday while wearing dark clothing, plastic masks and sunglasses, according to Maj. Ginny Higgins, a spokeswoman for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.

Higgins said both men had a handgun when they robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash. KATC-TV reported that the men are father and son.

Both men were arrested at a home in the 200 block of East Lawrence Street in New Iberia with the assistance of the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, Higgins said. They will be booked into the Iberia Parish jail and later extradited to St. Martin Parish jail, Higgins said.

The investigation is ongoing.
