An Opelousas man apprehended in Houston last week returned to Louisiana on Tuesday to face counts of armed robbery in both Opelousas and Washington.

Charles Guidry, 25, of 711 Guidry St., is accused in the Jan. 22 armed robbery of an Opelousas Valero convenience store and another later that night in Washington, according to a news release from the Opelousas Police Department.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office in Houston arrested Guidry at a home there on Jan. 28, the release states.

Surveillance video from the Opelousas robbery shows two people entered the business, one of whom held the cashier at gunpoint while demanding money, police said.

Guidry is also accused in a 11 p.m. armed robbery in Washington the same night, although further details about that crime were not immediately available on Wednesday.
