Two people are injured after a Friday afternoon shooting in Lafayette, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Officers were working around 3 p.m. to determine how many shooters were involved in the incident, which happened about an hour before in the 100 block of Champagne Street, said Sgt. Kyle Soriez, a police spokesman.

Police arriving at the scene found one man injured with what appeared to be two gunshot wounds, Soriez said. A second victim soon arrived at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

“We believe it’s related to this scene as well,” Soriez said.

The investigation is ongoing.
