A Eunice man was killed Monday when his pickup truck struck a roadside embankment on LA 370, went airborne and hit a tree before overturning in a canal, State Police said.

Anderson Domingue, 60, was driving a Toyota Tundra truck eastbound around 2 p.m. when he veered off the right side of the roadway west of LA 35 at a curve to the left, State Police said.

Although Domingue was restrained, he was pronounced dead on the scene, State Police said in a news release issued Wednesday.

Troopers took routine toxicology samples from Domingue but State Police said impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
