LAFAYETTE — An early morning shooting on Magnolia Street has left one man dead and a second man wounded, Lafayette Police said Thursday in a news release.

Police did not identify the victims but a 32-year-old man died and a 28-year-old man remains in stable condition at a hospital, police said.

The shooting, which is being investigated, occurred at 12:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Magnolia Street following a disturbance involving six to eight men police said.

Witnesses told police that at least one man began firing during the disturbance and the shooter or shooters fled afterward, police said.
