The Eunice Police Department is working leads in the hunt for a woman they say made a bomb threat during the armed robbery of a bank on Thursday.

“We have a couple of leads, and we’re gonna find her shortly,” Chief Ronald Dies said Friday.

The woman showed a gun and demanded money from State Bank & Trust Co. on 4th Street, then left behind a package she said was a bomb, Dies said.

A bomb squad determined the package was harmless.

Although the woman got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Dies said “she was awfully nervous” and made “a number of mistakes,” which indicates she’s likely not a career criminal and should be identified and arrested soon.
