NEW IBERIA — A New Iberia woman died early Wednesday morning after her vehicle overturned on the highway in an accident police suspect is impairment-related, State Police said.
Linda Rogers, 52, was pronounced dead a few feet from her 1993 Chevrolet Trailblazer around 2 a.m. on LA 86 near Crochet Road, according to a State Police news release.
Investigators said Rogers was wearing a seat belt during the crash and was not ejected from the vehicle. The Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office will determine her exact cause of death.
Police said Rogers was traveling east on the highway when she crossed into the opposing lane and onto the shoulder before over-correcting, causing her SUV to rotate clockwise and overturn onto its roof, the release stated.
The crash remains under investigation.
