Breaux Bridge student arrested, accused of having brass knuckles on the high school campus, deputies report _lowres

Police on Monday arrested a 17-year-old Breaux Bridge High School student on an accusation of carrying brass knuckles on campus.

Kalobe Rigney, of Breaux Bridge, was booked on one count of carrying a dangerous weapon by a student on school property, according to a news release from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.

A school resource officer found the brass knuckles in Rigney’s possession after someone reported it to authorities, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The crime carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.
