St. Mary Parish law enforcement officers arrested 27 people and announced warrants for 17 more Wednesday as they wrapped up a long-term undercover investigation targeting low- to mid-level drug dealers, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Twenty-one of those arrested were booked on counts of distributing drugs, while four were booked on possession counts, one on theft and one on conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution.
Four people were arrested on counts of marijuana distribution; four on counts of crack-cocaine distribution; three on counts of cocaine distribution and one on a count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine; two on counts of distributing synthetic cannabinoids and one on a count of conspiracy to distribute the drug; two on counts of methamphetamine distribution; one on a count of distributing Suboxone, an opioid addiction treatment drug; one on a count of distributing Norco, an opioid pain medication; one on a count of distributing Ecstasy; and one on a count of conspiracy to distribute Ecstasy.
