LAFAYETTE — Authorities continue to search for 33-year-old Tyson Thibeaux, who is wanted by the Police Department on a warrant in an attempted first-degree murder, according to a news release.
Thibeaux allegedly fired multiple shots into a home in the 100 block of Hogan Drive during the early morning hours of July 27.
Police requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force.
Thibeaux has a violent criminal history consisting of arrests for home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, drug possession and resisting arrest, according to a news release from the Marshals Service.
A cash award is available for information leading to Thibeaux’s arrest, the release said. Anyone with information is asked to call (337) 281-8236.
Suspect sought in armed robbery try
LAFAYETTE — Police said a man fired two shots inside a vehicle carrying three people during a Monday afternoon robbery attempt on Moss Street, according to a news release.
The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Moss Street, the release said.
Cpl. Paul Mouton, spokesman for police, said the victims drove to the location to pick up the suspect, whom they knew only by a nickname.
The man climbed into the backseat and pulled out a handgun demanding money from the victims, the release said.
The victim in the rear seat, a 24-year-old man, began struggling with the suspect, causing the gun to discharge two rounds into the front windshield, the release said. The suspect then fled.
There were two others in the front of the vehicle, a boy, 6, and a woman, 20, neither of whom were injured, the release said.
