A Rayne man arrested on Wednesday is accused of possessing stolen goods after deputies say they found him with two recreational vehicles reported stolen over the weekend.
Authorities around 1 a.m. on Wednesday witnessed Bryson Joseph Meche, 21, of the 600 block of Section Street, trying to load a stolen four-wheeler into the back of a pickup truck on North Riceland Road, according to the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle had been reported stolen on Sunday from a Virginia Road home in Mire, the Sheriff’s Office said. Also located in Meche’s possession was a dirt bike, that had been reported stolen from a home on Grand Prairie Highway in Mire on Sunday.
More than 10 thefts were reported in Mire last weekend, the Sheriff’s Office said.
