A 34-year-old Breaux Bridge man was ejected from his motorcycle and killed on Thursday in Lafayette after someone drove into his path, police said.
Authorities had not released the victim’s name on Thursday afternoon.
The motorcyclist was traveling east on West Willow Street when a vehicle traveling west turned left into the victim’s path on to Staten Street, according to a Lafayette Police Department news release.
The rider was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Both the driver and passenger of the Ford vehicle — the model of which was not released on Thursday afternoon — were hospitalized with minor injuries, the release stated.
The crash remains under investigation.
