Lafayette Police seeking information on white pickup truck seen in area of Thursday shooting death _lowres

Photo provided by LAFAYETTE POLICE DEPARTMENT -- Police are searching for the owner or driver of a white, single-cab pickup truck, which may be missing a bumper and/or tailgate, that was seen near the scene of a Hazel Street shooting that killed 48-year-old Stephen "The General" Phillips on in the early morning hours of June 9, 2016.

Police are searching for the person who owns or drove a pickup truck captured on surveillance video around the time of a Thursday shooting death in Lafayette.

The white, single-cab pickup seen in the area of the 300 Hazel Street shooting that killed Stephen “The General” Phillips, 48, may be missing the tailgate and/or rear bumper, according to a news release from the Lafayette Police Department.

Phillips died at an area hospital early Thursday when police responded to shots being fired around 1:40 a.m. and found the man lying in the roadway suffering multiple gunshot wounds, police have said.
