To find a suspect in a Labor Day shooting in Lafayette Parish, authorities only had to look to the jail.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Friday that Ronald Williams, 32, shot a 24-year-old man in the back during a fight in the 500 block of Marigny Circle.
The victim is expected to recover, although he remains in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Williams, who lives on Marigny Circle, was arrested Tuesday by deputies for an unrelated warrant of open alcohol container. He remained in jail Thursday when investigators added a new count of attempted second-degree murder, the Sheriff’s Office said.
